Trailblazers Set for Challenging Spring Slate

GODFREY, Ill. — The Lewis and Clark Community College men's soccer team has released its 2026 spring schedule, a six-match slate designed to test the Trailblazers against high-level competition while integrating a wave of new talent into the program.

Head coach John Dunn said the spring season will serve as a key building block for the fall, especially with eight new players joining the roster.

"For the spring we want to integrate the new players and push to compete against some quality four-year programs," Dunn said. "Having eight new players puts us in a unique position to begin the process of getting our ideas and standards across to the group so that it puts us in a strong position come August."

Lewis and Clark opens spring play March 28 with a road match at Lindenwood in St. Charles, Missouri. The Trailblazers will then travel to face Maryville April 3 in St. Louis.

The home portion of the schedule begins April 11 against Harris-Stowe, followed by matchups against McKendree April 14 and UMSL April 17 in Godfrey. The spring finale is set for April 24 at SIUE in Edwardsville.

Dunn said the schedule offers a strong mix of opponents from multiple levels, giving his players a chance to measure themselves against programs with recent postseason success.

"Honestly, I am looking forward to all of our spring games," Dunn said. "We have three opponents from one of the toughest DII conferences in the nation, the GLVC, two DI opponents that have both made NCAA tournament appearances in the last few seasons and a NAIA national qualifier."

Beyond development, Dunn emphasized that the spring matches also provide an opportunity for players to showcase their abilities.

"It's a really competitive schedule that allows us to go up against top competition and get our guys some great exposure in the process," Dunn said. "The message to the group is simple — you all want to play at the next level, now you have the opportunity to show that you belong there."

  • April 3 — at Maryville (St. Louis, Mo.), 2 p.m.
  • April 11 — vs. Harris-Stowe (Godfrey, Ill.), 5 p.m.
  • April 14 — vs. McKendree (Godfrey, Ill.), 7:30 p.m.
  • April 17 — vs. UMSL (Godfrey, Ill.), 12 p.m.
  • April 24 — at SIUE (Edwardsville, Ill.), 6 p.m.
